Wild Wintery Weather

Boy are things starting off crazy here in the Upper Willamette Valley this year.  The average snowfall for January in Portland is 1 inch  (3-4 inches per year) – Although I can’t seem to find the actual statistics, I’m guessing we’ve already reached our Portland average with more snow on the way on Tuesday night!  February average is 2 inches!  Is this a sign of what’s to come this year!!

Although it is beautiful, us Westerners don’t know how to drive in it – then add the ice on top of it like this last round (more than an inch of ice in some places) – it gets pretty crazy.

But when you can sit at home by the fire sipping hot toddies – it’s really wonderful.

Those aren’t spring flowers on the bush!

This is the pond in my backyard! Frozen solid!

Spent a lot of time thawing out the hummer feeder – kept freezing up!

And we all stayed in the warmth by the fire –

Happy Wintering!

I love the beautiful and icy photos that winter brings, but this south Texas girl likes them best from inside the warm house! LOL! Thank you for the peek at a chilly winter and your snoozy kitties. We have dogs and they love a warm and toasty place in the house, too.
