Water Damage Renovation

It rains a lot in the Pacific Northwest – which is why I’ve been an absentee blogger lately.  Normally, I love the rain.  I love the green it creates and the fresh smell.  But this time, my house leaked.  It leaked bad.  And the carpet in my bedroom got wet, wetter, wettest!  We had to rip it out when it started to rot – and we still aren’t sure we found the leak.

You see, our bedroom is a converted garage.  The previous owners did things with short-cuts, including building the wall with poorly sealed bricks and cement.  But we think we fixed it.  Just to be sure, we chose to paint the concrete floor rather than lay more carpet and have to start over – and while we were at it – why not repaint and redecorate?

Well here we are, three weeks later and finally done.  And here are the results…

Thanks! My husband built those shelves years ago – they were the burned and varnished wood (popular in the 70s). He painted them to make them more current and to go with the new colors of the room. The problem is, I like the room so much I spend TOO much time in it!! LOL

  2. Your husbands face is seriously priceless hehe. Looks great! Glad you shared at #HomeMattersParty
