The Liebster award

I was nominated for the Leibster Award by Shambray of Live a Happy Life.  I had never heard of this before, but it sounded like fun – and a great way to find some new blogs to follow!  So here I am playing along!

The rules are:
1. You have to link back to the person that nominated you.  (Please visit Live a      Happy Life – see the link above – and say hi!)
2. You must answer 11 questions given to you by the person that nominated you (that would be me).
3. After completing these questions you must nominate 11 bloggers with under 200 followers and give them 11 questions of your choice.
4. You must not nominate the person who nominated you.
5. You must let your nominees know that they have been nominated and provide a link for them to your po st so that they can learn about it.
Questions from Shambray for me:
1. What made you want to start a blog?
I have had blogs for several years – started, deleted, started another.  This one?  I love the Pacific Northwest.  I love to write about and share the cool places I’ve been and the things I’ve seen.  Who knows, this could be the prelude to a travel writing career!
2. How did you choose your blog name?
It was easy.  I only write positive things (if I try a restaurant or go to a place I don’t like, I simply don’t write about it). I wanted to name it Northwest Pleasures, but the domain was taken – Pleasures of the Northwest was my second choice and I grabbed it!
3.  How long have you been blogging?
For about six years – but seriously for since August of 2014.  It’s a lot more work to keep it going than I anticipated, but I am enjoying it!
4.  What is your favorite post or project that you are most proud of?
There are two:
5.  What is your dream travel destination?
Ireland.  I love faeries and folklore.  And I’ve always wanted to tour the castles and feel the history.
6.  What is your favorite part in your house?
My backyard.  A quarter acre of controlled overgrowth – 3 story high trees, vines, flowers, ponds and water features and tons of birds and squirrels (as well as my cats).  And an adirondack chair sitting out under a tree smack in the middle of it all!
7.  What is something you would change about your house?
I would make the kitchen bigger.  Much bigger!
8.  What is your guilty pleasure?
McMenamin’s Monkey Puzzle whiskey.
9.  What is your favorite book?
The Hobbit
10.  What is something you do to make life easier for you? I keep things organized – not only stuff, but things to do, things I want to do, etc.  I work full-time, blog – four of them (almost full-time), attend grad-school and take care of a husband and four cats.  I have to be organized!!

Thanks for the nomination Shambray – now here are my nominations of blogs with less than 200 followers (who now have one more – Me!)

Note:  finding how many followers was really hard since people have followers from so many different places – so I chose those that have less than 200 in bloglovin’.

My Nominations are:
My Questions to the nominees:
1. Why did you start this particular blog?
2. How long have you been blogging?
3.  What are your goals for your blog?
4.  What is the post in your blog  you are most proud of?
5.  If you could have lunch with anyone from history, who would it be and why?
6.  Where do you go to relax?
7.  What are you hobbies?
8.  Who is your favorite musical performer or band?
9.  What is your favorite movie?
10. Where is your favorite place to live?
11.  What is something you do to make life easier for you?

Congratulations to those I nominated – hope this brings you even more followers!   Don’t forget to mention me when you nominate blogs on your page.  I look forward to hearing from you (if you have time – time?  what is that?  LOL)  Happy blogging and have a great week!

I loved reading this. Ireland is one of my “to visit” destinations too! Now we need to make it happen!
