The Columbia Gorge Hotel

It’s been a busy week!  My daughter and grandson have been here from Kansas and we had a full event schedule!  One of our special trips was to ride on the Polar Express (come back tomorrow for more on that), but an unexpected snow storm in the Columbia River gorge had us rethinking if we want to drive all the way out there and back in one day.  The decision – get a room!  We landed in the Columbia Gorge Hotel – and it was FABULOUS!

We had a double room – two rooms that were joined by the bathroom in the window.  My husband and I stayed in the single queen bed room, IMG_9757-2  my daughter and her son in the double queen.   IMG_9758 The rates were incredibly reasonable and the services was above and beyond!  We were treated like we were special guests!

We had lunch, dinner and breakfast in the restaurant.  20141115_113743

Not only were the prices reasonable, the food was amazing!  Breakfast?  Eggs “Benny” with smoked steelhead and the chef’s special hollandaise.  I ate the whole thing!

There was snow on the ground and it was beautiful!

We will be back!

Oh, and a side note?  The hotel is haunted!  Check out the Haunted Adventure here!

It has ice on the top, but it’s a huge river. They had a blizzard just a couple of days before we got there and it was still mighty cold. But it made for a beautiful weekend and Polar Express ride!

  3. Great pictures, love the one with the view from the restaurant.
Thanks so much for being a part of our Wordless Wednesday Party
