Spring Daffodils

One of the things I noticed right off when we moved here were the daffodils – everywhere!

They grew on the freeway median, along the roadsides, and in everyone’s yards.  IMG_4645 medIMG_4790

The vacant fields had daffodils.

What a lovely introduction to Spring the Northwest!

I love daffodils! Ours are in bloom right now, and I keep meaning to get out and capture them before they are gone. Haven’t done it yet. Here there are fields of them too – places where old homes used to stand but have long since disappeared. This reminds me that I need to send some to a friend tomorrow. When her other passed away, they were the only things that were currently in bloom so they have become a symbol of her mother for her.

  6. Oh how I absolutely LOVE the Pacific Northwest! I will be heading up there in April and cannot wait as it has been nearly eight very long years since my last visit! Gorgeous pics btw! 😉
