Places to Go – In Oregon!

Oregon – the beautiful place I live.  And there is so much to see and enjoy.  Are you looking for someplace to go?  Here are some great ideas for day trips, a weekend, or even a whole week!

Day Trips (or a whole weekend!)

Breitenbush Hot Springs – Any time of year, this place will refresh and rejuvenate!

The Enchanted Forest – A fun place for kids (exhausting for us old folks!!)

Kayaking the Tualatin River – Mild exercise for the body, quiet time for the mind.

Willamette Valley Lavender Festival – Happening in July; A lot of lavender items, wine tasting and gorgeous views!

Silver Falls –  a great place to picnic and hike!

Camping Champoeg park – We stayed in a yurt, but I don’t recommend it in November.  It’s mighty cold!!

Camping at the North Santiam Park – A perfect place with a river, hiking and great sites!

Bend (one of my favorite places) – You just have to check it out!

Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge – Hood River ranks up there with me, and the waterfalls in the gorge are beautiful!

Lincoln City (great girl’s weekend)

Rockaway Beach

A little bit longer trip –

Crate Lake National Monument – beautiful scenery and a fascinating history

Hood River – the Historic Columbia Gorge Hotel – We went the first time in winter.  This place is beautiful year around (and the hotel is haunted!!)

the view from the restaurant window.

Oregon Lighthouses – The Oregon coast offers some beautiful views and some interesting history associated with these lighthouses!

Siletz Bay – Lincoln City  – So much to do in Lincoln City, like eat and relax and walk on the beach….

The Painted Hills – John Day Fossil Beds – Absolutely beautiful area!!  The history of the geology is fascinating!

So there you have it – just a few ideas of places to go in Oregon.  We’re hoping to explore parts of Washington in the near future!
