Sometimes they’ll ripen in the window sill, and sometimes they are pickled or fried – Here is a great fried recipe my mom taught me!
Fried Green Tomatoes
- 4-5 medium to large green tomatoes
- 1 egg
- 1/8 cup of water
- 1/8 teaspoon lemon pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 cup panko
- ¼ grated parmesan (not the canned)
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 1-2 Tablespoons olive oil
Slice the tomatoes about ¼ – ½ inch thick. Mix the egg and the water and coat each tomato slice with the mixture.
