Drift Creek Falls

It’s Where to Go Wednesday!  And here is a really pretty place to hike in Oregon Coastal Range – The Drift Creek Falls Area.  It was raining when we went down the winding road through the mountains.

The first thing we found was the Drift Creek Covered bridge.  There are 51 of 600 covered bridges left throughout Oregon.

We actually went to try to find some mushrooms so we pulled over and hiked into the forested areas along the way.

Although we found no edible mushrooms, we found some beautiful fungi – and some wild life too!

The falls area is a $5 fee area and the trail is 1.5 miles one way.  1.25 miles into the trail takes you to a suspension bridge.  Cross that over to the falls.  It’s been a pretty dry year so I don’t have any spectacular photos, but click here for the Portland Hikers.org website.  You’ll not only find some photos, but more information on the trail.
