DIY St. Patty’s Candle Holders

I love the holidays.  And I love to decorate.  I have electronic candles (you can use the real deal too) in glass holders out year-round.  Each season I like to embellish the holders with something for the holiday.  Here is an easy and inexpensive way to decorate your candle holders for St. Patrick’s Day.
You need:20150305_062741

  • Dried green peas (split peas)
  • Spray adhesive
  • Green and gold glitter
  • Cookie sheet
  • Wax paper
  • A large glass bowl

Lay the wax paper over the cookie sheet and spread some peas out in a single layer.  Sprinkle glitter (I used two each of gold and green – one coarse and one fine) onto the layer of peas.  20150305_062929

Spray with some adhesive and mix.  Spray a second time and mix again.  The adhesive is sticky and dries fast.  Lift from the wax paper and pour into a bowl.

Repeat until you have as much of the peas as you need for your candle holders.

Pour them in and light!
