Brooks Gardens – Peonies and Iris!

The Willamette Valley offers so many different gardens!  March and April offered the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival at the tulip farm – and May has peonies and iris gardens in full bloom.  Last week I told you about Schreiner’s Iris Gardens – and today I’m happy to show you Brooks Gardens!

This garden is just off Hwy 99E south of Gervais and a slight north of Brooks.   You’ll travel  just under a mile down a narrow gravel road.  When you get to this sign:    IMG_7066You’re there!

It’s a small farm with rows of flowers to view.  Listen carefully – you’ll hear a buzz!  There were lots of bees there when I visited, gathering pollen from the inside of the peonies.

You can purchase cut flowers or plants.  And it’s simply a wonderful place to just walk through the various beds.

Fabulous flowers! A town about 20 minutes away might start a botanic garden and I’m wishing on tons of fallen eyelashes that they do. The closest one is almost two hours away for me.
