A Day in Bend, Oregon

We took a short trip to Bend this weekend to visit our grandson.  He is a cadet at the Oregon Youth Challenge Program and we are over the top proud of him.

After our visit we ate and played and enjoyed ourselves…..

He told us he had to go to Jake’s Diner for lunch.  Can’t say the food was spectacular – it was OK, but the cinnamon rolls were amazing!!  This is the SMALL one – Jer at it all!

We took him and his sister to the Sun Mountain Fun Center.  They each got a Passport that let them Race,

Do bumper cars,

Take a swing in the batting cages,

Play the games for prizes  – and Bowl (this old grandma lost and lost good – 39 points).

After we said goodbye, me and grandpa stopped for a brew at Worthy Brewery –  The Imperial IPA was outstanding! 20150418_174535_resized

And then off to our room with a bottle of cognac.  We managed to get our hands on a mini suite at the Shilo Inn – check this place out – sitting area, kitchenette, sleeping area, balcony, all for under $100 (tax included)~

Sunday morning included the free breakfast buffet, a bit of relaxing, then heading off home.

We’ll be coming back in June, so watch for a report on some breweries!!
